Note  Just wondering - do you have any other websites?

Yuppa! I have a dozen other sites that I do just to help out. Everything from FOP to Museums!

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I sent you a message but didn't receive a reply!

Chances are I did reply but was confronted with a "Blocking Spam with Sender Validation" system. These systems require the sender (or reply) to jump to a URL and verify yourself. Also, when someone leaves a Guestbook Entry, I add them appropriately and send out a message which, on some ocassions, is greeted with a "Blocking Spam with Sender Validation." I'll be honest, I just have toooooo much on my plate maintaining VPNAVY as it is and don't have enough time to "register." So, if you use one of these Anti-Spam mailboxes - please add my e-mail to it upfront.

Note  How can I make VPNAVYs text larger?

Go to your Browsers TOP MENU BAR and select:

Note  I left a message on VPNAVYs Guestbook. Why was it removed?

It may have been removed for a number of reasons.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I'm having problems loading your pages!

Thanks to everyone's contributions VPNAVYs Summary Pages are growing! Unfortunately, there are a few "browsers" that can't handle large pages.

    I have found that
Mozilla 1.4 has a bug when it comes to large pages. My understanding is they have been notified a number of times but haven't found it major enough to address.

UPDATE I redesigned my large pages - I believe I worked around Mozilla 1.4s problem. [22DEC2003]

I have tested VPNAVYs largest pages on the following browsers successfully:

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I recently received a message from you with a Virus!

As you can imagine, VPNAVYs E-Mail is part of numerous Shipmate Address Books. There are many virus's that "steal" addresses from the infected Shipmate Address Book and transpose messages that look like they are coming from VPNAVY. I can assure (the best I can) that VPNAVYs personal computer is not infected. Please take a look at: VPNAVY E-MAIL VIRUS PREVENTION PROCESS for a detailed breakdown of what VPNAVY has in place to prevent my personal computer from being infected.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How do I get my name added with my former (or current) squadron(s)?

You can simply leave a message on VPNAVYs Guestbook. VPNAVY will post your info appropriately.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How can I add some pictures to VPNAVY?

You can just attach them (JPG format prefer'd) to a mail message. Make sure you include a description.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How can I update my e-mail address provided with my listing(s)?

Just send a message and include your name, old e-mail, and new e-mail address.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How can I update my listing(s)?

Just send a message and include a complete "rewrite" or addition to your current listing(s).

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I would like to download an image on VPNAVY. Do I have to request permission?

Obviously, anyone can download images from the InterNet. VPNAVY requests that you send a message to the "contributor" and request permission first.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I would like to leave a Reunion Notice on VPNAVY. How do I do that?

You can simply leave a message on VPNAVYs Guestbook. VPNAVY will post your info appropriately.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How do I get VPNAVY to exchange links?

VPNAVY will only post a link if your site is VP related.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Did you ever serve with the Navy?

Sure did! My military service is located on: Military Service.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Why did you create VPNAVY?

Take a look at: Why VPNAVY.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Is there an easy way of looking up Shipmates?

I have provided a Shipmate Summary Listing (by Last Name). Take a look at: Shipmate Summary Page.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How can I get a copy of my DD-214 (Discharge Certificate)?

I have provide links to address all questions relating to DD-214's, etc. Take a look at: Shipmate Summary Page.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How can I find out what squadrons you have on VPNAVY?

At the bottom of every VPNAVY Page is a Summary Listing. You can also jump over to: VP/VPB Selection Page.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Since listing with VPNAVY my "junk mail" has increased. What gives?

Unfortunately, posting your e-mail with VPNAVY makes it easy for Shipmates to contact you as well as others building "junk mail" (SEE: "What can I do about SPAM?") lists. It is the price you pay for hooking up with former Shipmates. You could consider getting a mail account from a free provider (i.e., Yahoo Mail, etc.) or I can remove your listing(s). VPNAVY DOES NOT SELL E-MAIL LISTINGS!

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Where can I buy patches from the squadrons I served with (lost them over the years)?

You can jump over to Military Best and Soldier City.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I would like to buy a model aircraft. Do you know where I can find one?

You can jump over to Model Aircraft Summary Page where I've listed all models found on the net. I have also included models with each squadron listed. Another source for both plastic and mahogany is: Historic Aviation.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I sent an e-mail to a long lost shipmate and it came back "undeliverable."
Do you know his new e-mail?

Unfortunately, some shipmates change Internet Service Providers and don't notify VPNAVY. However, I've been getting more and more e-mail address updates. At the end of all shipmate listings are noted whether the e-mail, biography, picture, etc. were (and when) updated.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I have a bunch of stuff (pictures, cruisebooks, etc.) that I would like to donate. Do you accept this type of material?

Absolutely! My normal procedure is to post the history and pictures with each appropriate squadron. I also post the contribution on my VPNAVY Library Summary Page listing you as the contributor.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  My Father served aboard a Seaplane Tender. He said he supported many VPB squadrons. Does VPNAVY list Seaplane Tenders?

Yuppa! I have attempted to include all related Naval entities that support U. S. Navy Patrol Squadrons. Since Seaplane Tenders actively supported our squadrons, you can jump over to: Seaplane Tender Summary Page for a complete list (with history, pictures, shipmate, etc.). I have also listed those Navy squadrons flying VP related platforms. For a complete list of EVERYTHING on VPNAVY look at the bottom of every VPNAVY Page or jump over to: VPNAVYs Selection (Site Map) Page.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How can I tell when you've added anything to VPNAVY?

All ya have to do is jump over to VPNAVY Update Summary Page.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Does VPNAVY have a fax number I can use?

Yuppa! VPNAVY can receive fax's on 240-526-1400.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Why is VPNAVYs page so small? Other WebSite pages fill out the entire screen.

Well, I had to make a decision on VPNAVYs screen "resolution." The problem I have is many users are still using low resolution (bigger characters). Many WEBTV and older PC users don't have the luxury of high resolution. So I decided to work with the lowest standard resolution. Therefore, I setup VPNAVY at 800 by 600 pixels as opposed to 1024 by 768 pixels resolution. Sorry!

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  How big is VPNAVYs organization?

    Interesting question. Let's see.............ONE!

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  Is there anyway of getting a bigger and sharper picture you have posted?

Yuppa! Contact the "contributor" for the original picture. I reduce the resolution to save server space and decrease the amount of time it takes to load.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I selected a picture and got a "404" error. Did I do something wrong?

Absolutely not. I did something wrong. If that happens again, let me know the Summary Page and selection and I'll check to make sure I uploaded the image. This also happens if I made a mistake creating a page. Please, let me know so I can fix it.

    Return to TOP of page!

Note  I recently replied to a message from you verifying my Shipmate entry. Why didn't you reply?

You should have noticed a "NOTICE" at the end of my reply. "NOTICE: If you do not include my original message I will not reply! Why? I receive an average of 40 messages a day and simply don't have enough time to figure out what you are talking about (smile). Good Hunting!".

As I mentioned, I get an avergage of 40 message daily (not counting a ton of SPAM messages!) asking for information, etc. It just takes tooooo much time to search my e-mail database to figure out what you are talking about. I sincerely hope you understand. I might note that AOL is famous for not including the previous message.
