I then served with VR-21 Detachment NAS Midway Island from November 1952 to November 1953. We serviced transient aircraft from Japan enroute to NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii and Hickam. I was there when the guys who had been in North Korean prison camps were coming home. I spent November 1953 to November 1954 with VR-21 NAS Midway Island. I was an AE-2 by that time. INGALLS, ABEC Billy E. Retired pilabrahjo@gmail.com "...Took my boots in NAS North Island, San Diego, California left there in December 1947. My first duty station was NAS Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. At ford Island I was assigned to operations and worked in the control tower. When NAS Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was closed I went to VR-8 at Hickam Field and flew as a flight attendant until 1952. From there I went to VR-5 at NAS Moffett Field, California. Was transfered to NAS Hutchinson, Kansas all so in 1952, there I was moved over to Newton, Ks an outlying field. In 1955 I went aboard the USS Lexington and was in charge of the #3 arresting wire landing gear. From there I went to AirBarSRon-2 at NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii in 1956. In 1959 I went aboard the USS Ticonderoga and was in charge of the Port Catapult. In 1960 I was transfered NAS Whiting Field, Milton, Florida and PO in charge of the North Field all so was TAD as manager of the EM Club. 1963 I went aboard the USS Kitty Hawk CVA-63 and made a few cruises to Vetnam in the V2 divison. I ended my time in the Navy on October 1967 off of the USS Kitty!..." [26AUG2010]

Jr. blucat44@gmail.com "...I served with VP-44 (February 1942 to December 1944), VP-907 (March 1946 to November 1946) as a ACMM (first squadron Leading Chief), Redesignated VP-ML-57 (November 1946 - February 1950) and then we were Redesignated VP-871 (March 1950) where I stayed Leading Chief when we were recalled to active dutry in March 1951. We deployed to NAS Sand Point, Seattle, Washington where I decided to rejoin a flight crew. When we deployed to NAS Atsugi, Japan I became Plane Captain of Crew-6. I remained until we returned to NAS Alameda, California in August 1952. I transferred to VR-5 at NAS Moffett Field, California. Would like to contact any of my old Shipmates..."
