UPDATE "...On 14 October 2001 a Service of Remembrance was held at the VP International Memorial at Canadian Forces Base Greenwood, Nova Scotia. During the service the 107 USN aircrew who had been identified during the past year were formally inducted into the VPI Book of Remembrance. The Book of Remembrance identifies 1702 VP aircrew from 12 nations who were killed while on VP flying duties since 1 January 1947, 990 of these men were members of the USN. We have now identified all aircrew for the mishaps reported to us, the Book of Remembrance no longer has any unidentified individuals. Many thanks to the many shipmates who responded to our requests for information. Norm Donovan n.don@ns.sympatico.ca, VPI Book of Remembrance Compiler..." [18OCT2001]
