VP Association Patches
NOTICE: "...The VP Association recently commissioned replica squadron patches for a variety of Navy Reserve patrol squadrons that were based at NAS Squantum and NAS South Weymouth over the years. The designs done up were VP-911 (NAS Squantum, Massachusetts and NAS South Weymouth, Massachusetts), VP-912, VP-913, VP-914, VP-915 and the original VP-92 insignia (the early guilotine not the later minuteman). The VP-92 patches are supposedly in and the others are supposed to be about two weeks behind them. If anybody is interested in buying one or more of these patches, have them contact Bill Hanigan at email@example.com..." "...The VP Association has a limited number of exact replica VP-911 and VP-92 patches available for sale as a fund-raiser for the group's admin fund. The patches are $6 each plus $5 shipping for as many patches as can be fit in a standard Priority Mail mailer. In other words, if you want one patch the cost is $9 ($6 + $5), if you want two patches the price is $17 ($12 + $5), etc. Quantities are limited and once they are gone that's it. If you are interested contact Marc Frattasio at email@example.com. If the patch(es) that you want are still available he'll contact you to let you know where to send a check. VP-911 was a reserve squadron that flew PBY Catalinas, PB4Y-2 Privateers, and P-2 Neptunes out of NAS Squantum, Massachusetts and NAS South Weymouth, Massachusetts from 1950 to 1968. The VP-92 guilotine patch design was used by the squadron when it flew SP2H Neptunes and P-3A Orions out of NAS South Weymouth, Massachusetts between 1970 and 1979. In later years the old guilotine design was replaced by the more familiar Minuteman insignia of modern days..." Contributed by FRATTASIO, AW1 Marc "Frat" J. firstname.lastname@example.org [28SEP2010]
