HISTORY
VP-935 was established on 1 January 1963 and was in existence for a period of five years. It was one of three squadrons (the others being VP-936 and VP-937) that were associated at that time with the Naval Air Reserve Training Unit (NARTU) at NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. The squadron was lightly-manned (a complement of about one-third of a regular fleet patrol squadron) but with the same basic structure. The squadron operated mainly in a training category. Annual Active Duty For Training (ACDUTRA) alternated between school cruises at RESASWTAC East at NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and deployments to NS Roosevelt Roads, PR where they conducted ASW training, maritime surveillance/reconnaissance, and SOSUS contact evaluation.
On 1 January 1968, VP-935 was disestablished. Many of the airmen of VP-935 "graduated" (through VP-66W-1, VP-66W-2, and VP-66W-3) into the Condors of VP-64 where they continued their careers.
