I mostly worked on early preflight and being a morning person, I enjoyed it very much. On occasion I would do IFT duties as a replacement for the regular aircrew AT's/AX's - VP-31 being quite shorthanded of IFT's at the time. I loved doing IFT duties when the few opportunities came my way and I believe I did them well. I am married to a beautiful Filipina schoolteacher and we have a cute mestisa daughter that is just beginning school this year. What a blessing they are in my life. Presently, I am a chief pilot for a utility company and I have been flying their Cessna Citation SII for 10 years and previously their Beechcraft King Air B200. Along with the CE-500 Type Rating, I carry the B-737 Type on my ATP. I haven't done electronics for gainful employment since leaving the Navy though I still enjoy Ham Radio communication electronics as a hobby. Though many names and faces have faded in my memories, it would be nice to hear from any of my good shipmates that I worked with at the RAG Squadron during those years. As I go through life it becomes more apparent that knowing them left a positive and lasting mark on me and it was an honor to know them all. I am very thankful as I believe I received more than I gave. Hopefully, those I worked with benefited from my efforts to help take care of this proxy family unit called VP-31. It is a rare day that I don't occasionally think of some particular moment from my days at VP-31.
