UPDATE "...That pix was probably taken in the summer of 1957 after they were exchanged for P2V-5F's. As you probably know some of the 6M's carried a Petrol missle and some carried a Bat. I was 1st Ord. on HA-7 and HA-10 from 1955-1957. We were deployed to Malta February through July 1956. We had no missles on this deployment to my knowledge. In spring 1957 we changed our designation from VP-24 (HA) to VAHM-13 (LR) and then received the P2V-5F's. Later in 1957 we removed the 50cal. upper deck turret from the planes, so we had no guns..." Note missle pylon outboard of the starboard engine! Typical of "-6M". Probably in the 1956-59 time frame ..." Contributed by Bob McLaughlin's wife DIANA G. MCLAUGHLIN banddmcl1964@msn.com [01DEC98]
